OEM Fragrance Manufacturing: Custom Formulas
Sist oppdatert:
OEM fragrance production for brands and retailers: industrial scale-up, QA lab, fill lines, and export documentation from Türkiye.
OEM means we manufacture to your brand and formula (or co-develop it). Suitable for retailers, hotel amenity programs, and established fragrance brands.

|---|---|---|
| Formula | Mostly library | Library or fully custom IP |
| Scale | MOQ 500+ | Higher volumes common |
| Control | Packaging-led | Formula + process led |
| Best for | New brands | Scale brands / chains |

FAQ
Can we own the formula?
Custom IP ownership can be contracted; library formulas remain house IP.
Do you support hotel amenity programs?
Yes — shampoos, lotions, and room sprays with matching scent families.
What QA documents do we get?
CoA, IFRA, allergen declaration, MSDS, batch records summary.
MOQ for OEM?
Project-based; often 1,000–5,000+ units per SKU.

Component Sourcing & Bottle Compatibility
A fragrance is a system: juice, glass, pump, cap and carton must be qualified together.
- Glass: flint or frosted; wall thickness and inner coating affect both aesthetics and juice stability. Spotting/lining tests check for pump-glass fit leaks.
- Pumps and actuators: dosage per stroke (typically 0.05-0.15 ml for EDP), crimp dimensions matched to the bottle neck standard (e.g. FEA 13/415, 15/400, 18/415).
- Caps: zamak, ABS, Surlyn or wood; weight and finish define perceived quality at retail.
- Cartons: greyboard or folding carton, foil/stamp finishes, insert options.
Quality Control per Batch
Every production batch passes a documented release protocol:
- Physical: density, refractive index, color vs master standard
- Olfactory: panel comparison against the approved golden sample, by trained noses
- Chemical: GC-MS fingerprint on key accords (batch vs reference chromatogram)
- Filling QC: fill volume check, crimp torque, leak test, batch coding legibility
MOQ & Lead Times
| Stage | Typical MOQ | Lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Lab samples | 100-500 ml | 1-3 weeks |
| Stability run | per formulation | 4-12 weeks (parallel with tooling) |
| Industrial batch | 3,000-10,000 pcs per SKU (fill+pack) | 4-8 weeks after approval |
| Repeat orders | same MOQ | 3-5 weeks |
MOQs scale with bottle complexity: stock bottles and standard pumps fill at lower minimums than fully custom glass, which requires mold amortization.

Formulation Ownership and Legal Inspired-By Work
OEM contracts should state who owns the formula. Library-based inspired-by work (legally distinct recreations, never counterfeits of trademarked goods) typically stays in the manufacturer's library with exclusive-use options sold per market. Fully custom briefs — built through iterative modding rounds with the client's brand team — transfer ownership on final payment. Brands planning acquisition or retail listings should confirm formula ownership paperwork early; retailers increasingly request it.
Scaling From Lab to Industrial Batch
Lab-successful formulas scale with changes: maceration times stretch, filtration behavior shifts, and the same accord reads slightly different at tank scale. The professional bridge is a pilot batch (50-200 L) before the first industrial run — its QC data (density, color, GC-MS overlay, panel) becomes the release standard for bulk. Skipping the pilot step to hit a launch date is the most common source of first-batch rejection.
